'48 Ford COE w.i.p--Update Feb 15

Thought I'd start a thread for this; yet another unfinished project. It's still in the early stages.

I was following the example of a couple of other cool COE builds online, and then discovered that those builders did not widen the fenders like the 1:1, which makes the whole thing a little narrow, and makes the cab overhang the running boards too much. So, after some mis-cuts, I widened the fenders, raised the cab, and built a new hood using the original hood, the corners of the '48 kit's rear fenders, and some scrap plastic.

It won't be especially accurate, but it should be close enough :)

Also working on modifying a '53 ford flathead to loosely represent the larger Rouge 337 that these trucks had.

It's sitting on an Opel Blitz truck frame.

Still to do--build the firewall and hinge pockets, build a modified floor and engine cover, trim the fenders to clear the wheels (as on the 1:1) and lots of sanding to get the fenders and hood in shape!
